Understanding that the University of Louisville is a major source of innovation and commercialization potential within the region, ENTERPRISECORP has partnered with NUCLEUS, the university�s lead economic development institution, to create this position that will be a substantial resource in taking research from the mind to the marketplace. This position is supported by and in partnership with the Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation.

The Manager, University Commercialization will perform business development within the University of Louisville, identify the highest potential commercialization opportunities and managing a portfolio of clients by providing strategy and funding assistance.

Key to success in this job is the ability to work within the University of Louisville system to build relationships with faculty and support groups, identify trends/demand surrounding new technologies within the broader market and assisting with the commercialization process for high potential firms. Initiatives may include providing direction on grant writing assistance, assistance with team formation, introduction to sources or capital for early stage companies, strategic advising and building an inventory of research topics within the university system. The Manager of University Commercialization must apply significant analytical skills thorough understanding of early stage company development.
Duties:Working with NUCLEUS and across University of Louisville to identify high potential ommercialization opportunities.

Recruit clients (University faculty and reserchers) for acceptance into ENTERPRISECORP'S tech commercialization program and other relevant services offered by NUCLEUS.

Identify potential sources of capital and secure funding for clients.

Formulate business strategy, including milestone planning and financial modeling.

Review business plans of clients; assist in bringing plans up to investment-grade.

Connect clients with experts/mentors in their industry.

Assist in filling key gaps in clients� team(management and board).

Other duties as needed.


Qualifications:Bachelor�s degree. Advanced degree - MBA, Engineering, Law, Bio-chemistry, Bio-engineering Ph.D - preferred.

Minimum 3 years experience in business environment preferred. A combination of education and experience may be substituted when proficiency is demonstrated.
