As part of the GLI team you will be responsible for developing long-term goals and strategic objectives to support GLI's vison of Louisville becoming the Idea Capital of the World.
GLI is seeking a Director, Public Affairs who will
be responsible for executing and implementing public affairs strategies, tactics and plans that promote the GLI advocacy initiative |
| Duties: | Under general supervision, manage projects and events that provide support to the Public Affairs and Communications department.
Manage the process of communicating legislative activities and news to members and elected officials.
Manage public affairs database - updates, content and functionality.
Assist with public and media relations activities.
Prepare talking points for Sr. Team and other leadership
Maintain Public Affairs section of GLI�s website.
Track legislative activity and compile reports.
Assist with planning and execution of public affairs events and programming.
Manage issue advisory committee process.
Interface with marketing in the development of program and event materials.
Represent GLI at various public meetings and events. Provide reports/updates to department.
Research issues, policies, best practices etc., for team implementation.
Field departmental inquires received through GLI website.
Perform other duties as assigned.

| Qualifications: | MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor�s degree preferred with three to five years of experience. A combination of education, experience and training may be substituted when competency in the position is demonstrated. Must have valid driver�s license and may be required to drive to and from events and meetings.
Must have excellent communications skills and the ability to work with top level executives.
Must be able to organize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
The incumbent must be able to pass any required drug test and must be able to maintain the confidentiality.
